Many people have asked me this one little question, "Why don't you believe in God?". Well the answer is, little children, the white man did not spread Christianity to that part of China - the part of China in which my parents lived. Now, I'm not denouncing the ones who've asked me, I'm only answering your question. I simply did not grow up in a religious environment or know of the teachings of your religion.
But it just really makes me uncomfortable when you look at me with this bewildered expression on your face while saying "ZOMGWTFAWK!" and slurring those words together, you know what I mean? Why don't I ask you this, why do you believe in God? Our beliefs are created from a major conditioning process starting from birth. Oh cool, I just answered my own question. That is the answer to both questions actually, the one where you guys asked me why I don't believe, and the one where I asked you why you believe.
It's the conditioning, it's the environment, and it's the people we are around that molds us into who we are. Step outside for a second and realize that maybe there is the possibililty that God does not exist in someone else's eyes. It's like the shock when you realize that a certain someone doesn't fit in a norm. But screw the norm, it's just not for me. There are some things that just conflict with my personal beliefs and ideals.
Now this is for the random strangers that bash atheists and clump them all in the little "rotten eggs" section of their minds. Not for the ones that do accept others, cause those people are cool. Keep in mind I'm not bashing your religion, I'm bashing people that are closed minded about atheism. My level of morality can be higher than your uptight ass even on one of my crappy days. Don't be disgusted with my open mind and don't assume that I am such a good-for-nothing person because I don't follow some book that men wrote and interpreted as the word of God. Excuse me if I can be a good person without it. And maybe I just straight up like Nietzsche. This negative connotation that comes with "atheist" is obscene, even more obscene than my "evils".

And now I bet you're shaking your head in disapproval. "Oh what an immature, lost little girl! I must help her, she's so poor. I must save her from the fires of hell!" And again those thoughts pop into your head after reading that.
It would be funny to see that look on people's faces when I don't care what they think of me. I just can't be serious with a group of people that aren't serious with me. I can't give them that courtesy, respect, and not judge them when they don't do the same in return for me. Understand that I am a good person, one who tries to be virtuous, and one who accepts others regardless of what they believe in, whatever their skin color, gender, etc. Shouldn't you be doing the same, according to your beliefs?

i hate how non open minded Christians are. oh and btw, yes Catholics, you're all Christians as well, fucking deal with it. And it is funny how theyre so in shock when they hear me say "im atheist" its not like theyre the ONLY belief in this goddamned world. they haveta live with the fact that there are others out there that dont have the same stupid mentality as they do.

There are still people like that out there? That's really weird, because now it's "hot" to not fit in to society, and that's where you get those weird little posers who claim they're bisexual and stuff.
Anyhow, I have a lot of reason to believe that Christianity is quite possibly the most destructive religion I know. They used it as a justification to wage wars on non-Christian countries, and those of whom they could not convert, they killed. Take the Native Americans, for example.

but i feel that most people who are like these close minded people we are talking about havent really been exposed to the other side of life, therefore they find it unimaginable and therefore, wrong.
and i dont see why one should be judged based on religion.
most people dont exhert their religion in every aspect of their life.
what i mean is like, i cant recognize a muslim across the room, because nothing defines anyone as a certain religion.

To Cathleen: I respect you, regardless of the fact that you don't believe in God. I mean, I don't believe you're going to burn in hell for non-belief. If you live your life as a good person, I think that something good will happen to you. I'm not sure what that something is, but that's what I believe. Like I've said a lot of the time, I don't live by my entire Bible, just what I feel is right.
To Anar: not all Christians are close-minded. I'm "Christian" in the sense that I have some belief in God. But yeaaah, it's okay, hopefully you don't mean every single one.

I hear you out. What bugs me the most is how, people who claim to follow their religion, perform the exact opposite of their supposed virtues. A relevent example would that of a Christian bad-mouthing one who is Atheist. No where in the bible does it say to degrade other people, and that it should be left for God to deal with. Anyways, people need to learn to respect/accept each other regardless of their beliefs. I'll end it now since I'm not feeling all philosophical tee-hee:P
