Random Thoughts and Money

So, with finals and everything, I haven't had much time to blog lately. Well actually I pretty much blog once a week now. But I'm hoping to break this pattern. This one is pretty ranty and unorganized.

Athletes. Celebrities. George Bush. What do they all have in common? Well let's go through the list, shall we?
  • They're rich as hell.
  • They're overpaid as hell.
  • They're useless as hell.
Now, I think I'm going to focus in on the money factor here. And I'm going to credit the people who contributed to this little thought party, Ronny, Vivian, and Sophia. I'm not going to bitch and whine about how they're so undeserving of their money and all that...screw it, I am going to do that. It just gets to me, how someone who can just make a bunch of shots in basketball can be paid 19 million dollars a year...for making a bunch of shots in basketball. Oh wait, but because they're on television and represent a city's dumbass pride, they get to have that money. You have people educating the youth and the members of tomorrow's society, people cleaning up after you, people saving you, people stuck in the treadmill of life who are much more deserving of that money because they actually do something and contribute to lessen the crappiness of our society.

Don't even get me started on celebrities. What exactly do they do? The qualifications of being a celebrity include:
  • Being hot.
  • Being pretty.
  • Having a sex tape.
And there you have it, the three things you must have to make it in Tinseltown. Now, I'm not saying that all celebrities and all athletes are dumbasses, but half of them I can go without. But it pisses me off how people have become so consumed in this celebrity culture that they watch their every moves, alienating them until they break. Can you really be as crazy to become infatuated with the affairs of people you may possibly never meet?

Money - The thing that keeps the world moving. You know, people don't get their rightfully deserved amounts of it, even if they do work hard. Poor people are not lazy, they're oppressed. It's infuriating when people are so ignorant to call people lazy for being poor. That high-school dropout you're dissing might have been in a horrible situation. Don't ever judge anyone for the flaws of our system. Simply, they had the capabilities to achieve and be better than they are at this point, but they were being held down. By what, you ask? Open your eyes and look at how imperfect our world is. I'm not going to say anything specific.

What else are you going to do when you're stuck, being paid about 2 thousand dollars a month, and having to pay your bills which leaves you less than a few hundred left over? No matter how much you save up, it's never going to get you ahead drastically. So basically you're living paycheck to paycheck, never having any extra money to do things that you want. What kind of life is that? The life that so many Americans have today. Work, work work, to survive - heads barely above water. The cycle just repeats over and over. Sometimes it's just not their fault, and they're stuck to deal with this life they've been given. It doesn't matter how hard you work, when one little thing pushes you off, it could all fall apart. Don't keep up this mentality that a straight path to success exists and that if you work your ass off and sacrifice, that you're going to get there. I'm not telling you to be lazy, but just to keep in mind the injustices that lurk and to be a little less naive.

I agree with you. The people who are working harder should be paid more than celebrities. Doctors for example save lives and get paid less than singers who are just singing.

Totally agree with you.

Teachers, who teach us hella shit, are pait shit money & yet this person modeling in bras in panties is paid like.. x million dollars & she has the personality of a bar of soap.

What is wrong with the world we live in today?

There are some rare few people who deserve money [Ms. JK Rowling for one who lived on fucking wellfare & wrote her stories on napkins & little pencil stubs no bigger than her pinky] & a few of my role models who happen to be celebrities [but they're not the ones with sex tapes & their own perfumes.]

I don't know. x.x

I hate people being either underrated or overrated.

My English teacher from last year doesn't get paid nearly HALF as much as Tom Cruise, but I fucking swear, she DESERVES it.

I SWEAR my mom doesn't get paid enough for the amount of hours she works. She works at home on the weekends and doesn't get paid enough. Meanwhile, Gisele is off there flaunting the result of hella lucky genetics.

This world needs a makeover. When we're in control, we need to take away their enormous paychecks.
