Nobody seems to be able to tolerate each other and end up releasing their bottled up feelings to everybody else but the person who's bothering them. Here, I just sit back and watch the show because I'm the most apathetic person you'll ever meet. Now it's not the bad type of apathy; it's not like I'm passive and allow myself to be stepped on and viciously attacked. No. It's the type of apathy where I'm not bothered by hatred and insults and immature assholes who like to instigate. Honestly, it takes a lot to push me to the brink.

High school. I don't take it seriously. How full of shit is this place? It's like shit everywhere, shit raining in the halls, shit falling from lockers. Shit coming out of mouths. It's not a place that's worth your insecurities, your anger, or your tears. Why don't you people just calm yourselves? Friendships and relationships are nothing in the arena of high school. You're in an educational facillity full of hormonal teenagers that usually: a) if you're a girl, you're a bitch or hella emotional, or b) if you're a guy, you're a fucking horny bastard whose dick seems pretty awake all the time. Everyone hates each other from time to time, and everyone wants to love each other from time to time. Then you get out into the real world, and nothing is like the halls of your high school or what you've seen in this controlled experiment. So what happens to you during these years...who gives a fuck?

Gender Equality. I haven't really talked about feminism for a while. Last I checked, I was up for pointing out problems in society but never offering a valid solution. Truth is, I don't know what to say about the word "men" being in womyn; but I can say these things will eventually get better when society plans to evolve. But hey, time for a little rant eh? I'm just so tired of it. I'm tired of constantly seeing opinions pushed to the side due to the difference in genitalia. Since when is it okay for someone to invalidate my claim unless it's completely ridiculous? When women are given equal opportunity in the workplace, the educational system, the world, we have achieved another milestone and things will only go up from there. Shit, my vagina shouldn't make it so that I have a lower chance of being in the profession I want or entitle me to less pay than a man. It's the social attitudes and ignorant views of female ability that we need to change, and that can only be done through education. I can't stress enough how passing on knowledge is key in this movement. Society needs to be able to identify that there is, in fact, a problem with sexism - and it's present in our everyday lives. People need to see and hear and feel the injustices that women go through and realize (in the most eloquent way possible) "this is some fucked up shit." You see someone being mistreated for their vagina? Get angry, get angry at this sexist bastard and teach him a lesson about what it's like to be a female. At this stage, problems can be fixed through the spread of the word and the consciousness of actions and attitudes around us. Now, I don't want everyone to be a man-hating, pissed off person, so gender equality is the more ideal aim if we want to live in harmony. Fighting fire with fire? Eh, I'm not so sure.

Slow Motion

The media has shown violence to be so glorious, so easy, so unreal.

Slow Motion (2006 Remastered LP Version) - Third Eye Blind

Miss Jones taught me English
But I think I just shot her son
'Cause he owed me money
With a bullet in the chest you cannot run
Now he's bleeding in a vacant lot
The one in the summer where we used to smoke pot
I guess I didn't mean it
But man, you should've seen it
His flesh explode

Slow motion, see me let go
We tend to die young
Slow motion, see me let go
What a brother knows
Slow motion, see me let go

Now the cops will get me
But girl, if you would let me
I'll take your pants off
I got a little bit of blow we could both get off
Later, bathing in the afterglow
Two lines of coke got cut with Drano
And her nose starts to bleed
A most beautiful ruby red

Slow motion, see me let go
We'll remember these days
Slow motion, see me let go
Urban life decays
Slow motion, see me let go

And at home
My sister's eating paint chips again
Maybe that's why she's insane
I shut the door to her moaning
And I shoot smack in my veins
Wouldn't you?
See my neighbor's beating his wife
Because he hates his life
There's an arc to his fist as he swings
Oh man, what a beautiful thing
And death slides close to me
Won't grow old to be
A junkie wino creep

Hollywood glamorized my wrath
I'm a young urban psychopath
I incite murder for your entertainment
'Cause I needed the money
What's your excuse?
The joke's on you

Slow motion, see me let go
Oh yeah
Slow motion, see me let go
Slow motion, see me let go

I gave this song a listen yesterday and despite all of the graphic images it brings to your mind, it points out a true flaw in Hollywood. Well, that's how this song operates - it shows you the disgust in violence, you're shocked, then you realize how real these acts are. Unlike the media's usual depiction, it's not as easy as it looks and there are real consequences to shooting someone or taking drugs. It's quite funny, the industry makes money off of people wanting to see people shooting each other or getting fucked up off drugs. In the movies we see people with a bullet in their body and we're numb to it. Yeah, we know it's not real. But in the news, when we're presented with the same situation - we don't give a fuck no matter how gruesome. Sooner or later, people are going to lose their sense of reality and know how scary these things are. It's as if movies are preparing us so that when we see the real thing, violence just isn't such a shock to us anymore.
Something else to note, isn't this song addictive? All of these gruesome acts wrapped up in a pretty package to deliver to the masses - just like Hollywood. This song mocks the public's thirst for gangsters fucking each other up by saying how "beautiful" the arc of his fist is, or how beautiful that blood is dripping out of her nose is. I just think this song is the most interesting thing I've heard in a while. Happy listening!

Thanks a Lot

I haven't written in a while, and sadly I think it's going to stay that way - random updates here and there.

So I'm pretty late on the Thanksgiving blogging craze, but I still wanted to share my opinion about this grateful day. I never really put this holiday on such a high pedestal. Well, like all other holidays, Thanksgiving is obviously another corporate holiday with the black friday bullshit and all those sales. Every year, my relatives and I would usually have some sort of gathering to celebrate Thanksgiving. I never really cared about the holiday itself, it was always the food that interested me. This year we didn't do any of that. I didn't have turkey this year, and honestly, I don't really care. I really don't like this holiday because it stands for something that apparently our whole country doesn't get, the exploitation of Native Americans. Way to celebrate the way America scalped the Native Americans, introduced diseases, burned their vilages, strengthened their ideas of white supremacy, etc. A lot would call this holiday "genocide day" or "thankstaking", and frankly, I agree with those names. That's the right way to address such a horrible series of events. What gets me is that all of this is lost and replaced with this new bullshit meaning of "being grateful for those around you". It's such a slap in the face to those who have been victimized, such a disrespect towards their mourning for ancestors. The irony in this situation is astounding, a day of mourning has turned into a day of so much positivity in terms of what Thanksgiving has become. It's become a day for families to come together and embrace their togetherness and to give thanks for what they have. Aww, such happy times shrouding the true meaning of this holiday. Thanks, society, for spreading this falsity around. This is me saying, "Wow America, way to be a dumbass."

Turkeys are just chickens on steroids.

What do you value?

People are ridiculous. “What do you value the most in life?” This idea came from a topic of discussion that Josh brought up yesterday, and I just thought it a really interesting question. Money? Fame? Beauty? Or as I call it, the superficial, dehumanized aspect of our once happy world? Well, I’d like to think our world was that great at one point. People seemed to have forgotten the simplest things. What were once things that had to be fought for, have now become of the lowest importance.

I value morality. Okay, that just made me sound like this scary, conservative religious freak. But really, this has nothing to do with religion, nobody seems to understand what in the hell morality is. The nature of so many people is sickening – manipulative and evil, all hidden under a giant facade. They just don’t seem to understand the importance of having a conscience and the concept of being a fucking human being. Complexity, in itself, isn’t a bad thing at all, but it’s all bad when people use it to induce harm upon one another. Being “good” isn’t a societal norm that’s up for breaking because people feel that it’s dull and pointless; the idea of being good is there for a reason. It exists to prevent pain. Something so simple as that should be easily understood, right? Apparently not, because people seem to enjoy being fucking assholes to each other.

I value peace and serenity. Cheesy? No, it’s the truth. I hate posers, they need to fuck off with their little “make love, not war” t-shirts and whatnot because that shit is disgusting. This is probably just me, but technology has become such a bad distraction from the things that truly matter (call me confused and conflicted – because that’s what I am). I’m just a bit fed up with this use of technology to pass the time. It’s not stimulating. I feel as though I’m slowly deteriorating along with my poor brain cells. What does this have to do with peace and serenity? Oh I’m getting there. I went to China one summer and I was without my computer and other devices for a month. And I’d like to think that was the happiest time I’d had in a long time. I felt so free, writing in my journal everyday, reading in the hot summer weather, taking in everything around me. It’s nice being observant, without a computer screen staring you down. The humid atmosphere was calming in the most unconventional way. That was peace.

But seriously, wouldn’t life be so much nicer if everyone was just chill? I feel like people have become really uptight over nothing. Conflict breaks out over the smallest, most mediocre problems. There is so much unnecessary hate up in the air that nobody can let go of.

I value pride, and not the annoying ass cocky kind of pride, but the self-respect kind. This has nothing to do with stupid ass conservatives thinking that women should stop fucking everyone, but about putting yourself down. “I’m so ugly, I’m so fat, I’m so stupid, I’m so disgusting, I’m so flat, I’m so pitiful, I’m so gross-looking.” You’re never going to hear that from me because I love myself too goddamn much to say shit like that.

I value education – if you think ignorance is bliss, then you’re fucking kidding yourself. It’s not going to make you happy to be in denial, it’s going to make you weak as hell. Go ahead, be another part of the majority of sheep in the field. Be ignorant, be another feeding the machine. Go on, live life being controlled.

I value…what’s that word for not being a dumbass? I don’t even know. But I’m going to begin this one with a big ole’ “I don’t care what people say” because I really don’t. I mean, considering me, they probably have nothing to say. High school hierarchy. Oh I can’t even begin my thought process when I see some bastard suck up to someone else for the crappiest of reasons…because they look like they’re “cool” or something stupid like that. Instead of doing the “point and laugh”, I’d rather do the “point and shoot head off”. I feel like I can just ridicule them until I hurt myself doing so.

I value dreams. As people grow older, their beliefs seem to slip away. A lot would argue with me on this and say that the opposite happens, but I’m talking about this sort of naivety that only children possess. Oh man, the imagination that comes along with this package is truly amazing. That sense of innocence and idealism cannot be recovered once it slips away. As a teenager, I want to keep it for as long as I can.

I value living. So who wants to enjoy life? “Life is too beautiful to spend it in a cubicle.” Trees are pretty nice, with their hot little leaves and fat bark. I’m just saying that some people should take a look at what they’re missing, all for a few extra dollars of cash. I’ll leave you all at that.

You remind me of this clown I used to be afraid of...

Beauty is of such interest to a large range of people. I'm sure this is a very overdone topic, but I am the meaning of a spontaneous mess of thoughts. Especially in our high maintenance world of today, the media constantly spits out so many standards of beauty that people just can't seem to keep up with. TV, movies, internet, magazines, etc. All of these publications may all at the same time give you conflicting advice on how to look prettier or to "find your style" or some cheesy line like that. Here I'm thinking, "Wow. This is so pointless." If you think that I'm going to tell you to stop your shopping and start wearing potato sacks, then you're awfully wrong. No, I won't criticize you because there's nothing to criticize. I'm just going to attack the institution of BEAUTY for being such a total douche by instilling depression, self-destruction, anorexia, confidence issues, body insecurity, and suicide into the present generation, most likely the future as well. Yes, another attack on hotness, and another step towards our happy goal of a perfected society. Like peace, it's not going to happen; it's too goddamn utopian. I know that. Ideas control us so powerfully, we're just puppets. And it's just so intricate, all of these aspects of the media all weaving this giant web of self-hate for all who do not comply with their "laws of acceptance". It's dividing everyone all up, turning one against another. This message may specifically fall into the female category only, but why do we all hate each other? Why has this idea driven so many to despise or ridicule others who do not feel the need to spend excessively on clothes or shoot a crapload of powder onto their faces? It's so simple to just...let it go. If you were to really say it out loud, "I hate so and so because they wore an ugly shirt." it would sound utterly stupid (credits to Josh for saying this once). Go turn this hate into some feminism or something. It's much better than what you're doing now. Standards of beauty, I thank you for rotting our generation and turning them not into thinkers, but followers and sheep. You are truly a piece of work.

Sometimes I just want to yell at someone when they believe they are less than competent in the way they look and say that they're not that pitiful. Take a look at yourself and see that you're not physically disfigured, starving, mentally disabled, living without shoes, wearing nothing but rags, dying of disease, stuck in poverty, or even dead. You can find me offensive, I don't mind. But your problems don't seem so big anymore do they? I'm not critical in the ones who are truely insecure, but the ones who are completely shameless in their justifications. You know what, screw this, I just loathe those who are so lucky to be where they are at the moment, financially secure, happy, etc, and to waste their days doing all of this useless crap. Your imperfections are the things that make your ass human. Damn, just love yourself and don't let some stupid telescreen tell you what you should be. Don't let your stupid friends say what you're lacking. Don't think you're not good enough to be whatever because it's just not true. It's a big world out there and it doesn't matter what you look like because there will always be people that are commonly accepted as prettier or uglier than you. And plus, nobody gives a care what you look like because of that giant world. Don't put on the makeup to make up for your fear, put it on when you're truly already confident. Because your confidence will shine through before that splatter clown face. If somebody ever tells you that your face or body is unappealing to their eyes, then they are shit. Their whole existence is worthless and a waste of human space.

"Beauty is so disgusting, it makes me want to vomit." Oh the irony.

Youth of the Nation

(Short Blog) Youth. The fruit of your loins. But their opinions are not held at the highest regard, are they? No, many would deem their thoughts as immature, inexperienced, and have this "teen angst" cloud fogging up around them. The whole "oh they'll get over it when they grow up" crap isn't something we really like. It does work both ways though, miscommunication is blamed upon both parties: the child and the adults.

But I'm going to focus on the teen part here. I despise being sorted into this "kid" category and living in a world where people have this amazingly wild idea that my age determines how high my understanding, or how extensive my space of thought is. I can't help but become angry when somebody assumes I'm a certain somebody and that's when all of the stereotypes come into play even more. Their ideas about what I am are strengthened and a means of communication is not established because I for one, am just pissed off. Angry plus angry doesn't equal a good outcome. There's nobody to blame here, but ignorance and lack of understanding. Sometimes, our worlds are just too different. With age, people seem to develop something else besides genitalia growth and body hair, and that thing I'm speaking of is arrogance. What should one do? Well you can start off by removing what presumptions you had about your child's opinion or action and by stepping off your adult high horse. No, I do not assume that you are arrogant, but sometimes this quality just shows through and it's not even intentional. It's just the age difference that has somewhat caused this. I need to say that my thoughts and ideas are just as valid as the next person's, even if they are however many years older. If they are seemingly out of line, then just explain your thought process and what your opinions on the subject are. There's no need to completely write something off without thorough clarification of WHY you would do such a thing. It's rude and you'll just get a "wtf" and a total disregard of your idea out of the person you're talking to. That was exactly the "arrogance" I was speaking of.

Treat us well, we are the future.

Busy, Busy, Busy.

Well it's been about a month. Just bloggin' to let you know that I haven't died yet...sadly. Now that was just the laziness and exhaustion talking. But then again, what have I been doing? Oh, nothing...just highlighting and cutting tons of papers that pretty much don't have anything to do with me. And memorizing things. It's a fun summer :). Just like going to school...all year long.

Interesting.

That brings me to the subject of year-round school. I just don't know what to think of it; and I'm not going to judge it since I've never had the pleasure of experiencing it. But it would be such a horrible change, seeing as how we've become so dependent upon our summer vacation to pretty much refresh ourselves and be rejuvenated from 9 long months of daily information absorption. I could work with this year-round thing if they gave a mini summer break of about 1-2 months.

Just a thought to ponder on about while I go back to burying myself within my work.

Don't Lower Your Standards!

The government regulates and assigns all of these little standards that we must learn within the school year. It is the teacher’s job to teach these to us, and maybe add a little bit of their own input (rarely). Education. Education. Education. The emphasis on education is endless. The emphasis on the use of our stripped to the bone, filtered, censored education is even higher; of course, not to the general public. But we are never told about the way education is used as a tool to shape the minds of citizens, and affect their ideas and attitudes towards life. A little more subtle than you think. Every bit of knowledge we accumulate through the public schooling system is processed and approved by school district, and the city, and the state, etc. The truth can be so easily screwed around with. It doesn’t take much for anyone to twist it to their liking. Of course it's quite hard.

Education is put upon such a high pedestal, and it’s horrible to see that it’s not going anywhere or doing anything to the people. The only thing you really get out of it is the basics, not a true education. You may know Calculus but you don’t know what the hell is going on in the confines of your own city hall or all of the shady corruption taking place. That’s just not what they want. They’ll teach you a lot of useless Algebra, but won’t teach you how to understand how the world or the system works, or to question it. “Let’s not have these kids become too smart now.” Sadly, not everybody will go out of their way to achieve a state of awareness and truly be educated. Nobody cares, they’re too distracted by what they want you to be preoccupied by: the media, celebrities – lifestyles of the rich and famous, material possessions.

What else is there? Standardized tests. No Child Left Behind. I mean, seriously? You’re going to force teachers to do a good job, and when they crack, they’ll stop teaching us and start to teach by the test. When a school is not doing well, you’re basically going to make it even worse by cutting their funding. How’s that for motivation? Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Don’t give me this bullshit about racial minorities because you know exactly why things are the way they are.
Maybe when they realize they’re screwing us over, just maybe they’ll change. I doubt that. No, when enough people are as pissed off as I am, finally they’ll hear us out. That’s going to take a while.

Something I’m hoping would never happen is the exaggeration of a mistake, and the incorporation of this exaggeration into the minds of our youth. Of course, the real reason these creationists are trying to slip that strengths and weaknesses curriculum into our coffee is to set the stage for their intelligent design takeover. Obviously people need to keep in mind that science is science, faith is faith. If evolution were to be disproved, the true alternative would not be backed by faith. Would they go through the same amount of analysis for their own idea of creationism?

I found an article from about three weeks ago talking about this subject. Here is the link:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/04/us/04evolution.html?_r=1&scp=5&sq=creationism&st=nyt&oref=login

"The chairman of the state education board, Dr. Don McLeroy, a dentist in Central Texas, denies that the phrase [the phrase being “strengths and weaknesses”] “is subterfuge for bringing in creationism.”

“Why in the world would anybody not want to include weaknesses?” Dr. McLeroy said."

That’s found to be really funny, because well…come on, now. Any 5-year-old with half a brain could figure out what this whole thing is about. If you’re ever going to try and get yourself a legitimate reputation and to not become the laughingstock of the century, that is just not the way to go. This opinion of Mr. McLeroy is from a completely neutral point of view at the moment. But soon that will change, because I am going to start stabbing at everything.

Yes, evolution is a theory. Just a theory, you say. Remember, a theory is not something completely off from fact. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be a theory in the first place. What is creationism? It’s a belief. A belief. If evolution is wrong, I wouldn’t be one to say, “No, it’s right. What else are we going to replace it with if it’s not true?”. No, I would never say that. But this case is completely different in the way that they’re trying to replace evolution with something that has lesser evidence to back up. If it actually made sense, I would give it a chance. But this is just rubbish. Why are we going backwards here?

It wouldn’t be surprising, though, if evolution was something fed to people since there’s nothing else to explain how we got here. Like a placeholder of sorts. It would be pretty tough to do such a thing though, even with the government and all its power. They would need to challenge scientists from all around the world, so I’m not going to come to that conclusion. I’m not a big fan of biology, but I can tell the difference between religion and science. It’s not that hard.

As for creationism, I just can’t agree with a lot of the things said. I find it really hard to believe that the earth is not a few billion years old but a few thousand instead. Where is the evidence here? From your bible? A lot of people have done things “according to the bible” when in reality they were basically just imagining things and misinterpreting the not so deep meanings from the text.

I’ll have to add, the guy in the article is just funny.

Here is a more recent article if one is interested:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/23/us/23darwin.html?ref=us

Well actually I pretty much blog once a week now. But I'm hoping to break this pattern. This one is pretty ranty and unorganized.

Athletes. Celebrities. George Bush. What do they all have in common? Well let's go through the list, shall we?

They're rich as hell.

  They're overpaid as hell.

They're useless as hell.

Now, I think I'm going to focus in on the money factor here. And I'm going to credit the people who contributed to this little thought party, Ronny, Vivian, and Sophia. I'm not going to bitch and whine about how they're so undeserving of their money and all that...screw it, I am going to do that. It just gets to me, how someone who can just make a bunch of shots in basketball can be paid 19 million dollars a year...for making a bunch of shots in basketball. Oh wait, but because they're on television and represent a city's dumbass pride, they get to have that money. You have people educating the youth and the members of tomorrow's society, people cleaning up after you, people saving you, people stuck in the treadmill of life who are much more deserving of that money because they actually do something and contribute to lessen the crappiness of our society.

Don't even get me started on celebrities. What exactly do they do? The qualifications of being a celebrity include:

Being hot.

Being pretty.

Having a sex tape.

And there you have it, the three things you must have to make it in Tinseltown. Now, I'm not saying that all celebrities and all athletes are dumbasses, but half of them I can go without. But it pisses me off how people have become so consumed in this celebrity culture that they watch their every moves, alienating them until they break. Can you really be as crazy to become infatuated with the affairs of people you may possibly never meet?

Money - The thing that keeps the world moving. You know, people don't get their rightfully deserved amounts of it, even if they do work hard. Poor people are not lazy, they're oppressed. It's infuriating when people are so ignorant to call people lazy for being poor. That high-school dropout you're dissing might have been in a horrible situation. Don't ever judge anyone for the flaws of our system. Simply, they had the capabilities to achieve and be better than they are at this point, but they were being held down. By what, you ask? Open your eyes and look at how imperfect our world is. I'm not going to say anything specific.

What else are you going to do when you're stuck, being paid about 2 thousand dollars a month, and having to pay your bills which leaves you less than a few hundred left over? No matter how much you save up, it's never going to get you ahead drastically. So basically you're living paycheck to paycheck, never having any extra money to do things that you want. What kind of life is that? The life that so many Americans have today. Work, work work, to survive - heads barely above water. The cycle just repeats over and over. Sometimes it's just not their fault, and they're stuck to deal with this life they've been given. It doesn't matter how hard you work, when one little thing pushes you off, it could all fall apart. Don't keep up this mentality that a straight path to success exists and that if you work your ass off and sacrifice, that you're going to get there. I'm not telling you to be lazy, but just to keep in mind the injustices that lurk and to be a little less naive.

We Reserve the Right to Refuse Service to Imperialism

If you've been paying attention to the news this past month, you should know that two countries in Asia have been hit with natural disasters - one of them being Myanmar as it was impacted with a cyclone. The recorded death toll so far is about 78,000 with another 56,000 people missing. One big issue at hand is foreign aid, particularly aid from the United States. Now there is a big development in this controversy. Allegedly, Myanmar is finally accepting help from other countries...whether the US is included in those countries, I do not know. They ask specifically for "no strings attached" type help. This somewhat ties in with this year's topic for policy debate, as you policy people will jump at. And now my thoughts...

You can't blame them though, I mean I'd be quite cautious to accept aid from a country with a history of imperialism. What do you do when you are hurt, and the person who can help you is also someone that you utterly despise and fear? Do you take their help, or do you walk away with your pride and safety? Well I wouldn't say pride is an issue in the real life situation, but it's just an example. Whether that person's help is genuine or not, it is being overshadowed by their history of destruction and dominative nature. This is America, the bully and the feared for its imperialistic nature. How do you change this? Hm, let's think about that one. Oh I got it, STOP RAPING OTHER COUNTRIES. Man, that took a while to think up.

Whether you believe it or not, it's a truth that needs to be told. Stop with this Iraq war, stop with this occupation of other countries. Just stop with this hypocrisy of "spreading democracy" when truely you're finding the best way to utilize their resources. So many people already know of the truth, and are trying so hard to be heard. Take a listen, because we'll only shout louder if you don't. You've given this country such a horrible reputation of forceful authority that the others just won't accept anything from us, thinking that we'll come back and bite them in the ass. It's dreadful to see all of this peace activism going to waste when the country they live in is in fact doing the opposite of what they want. It basically cancels it out and does more damage. I don't want what you can offer me if it's taken from the exploitation of millions of people. I don't want your obsolete luxuries if you had to conceive it from an overworked laborer in a sweatshop hundreds of miles away. I don't want you to cause a child in an imperialized country to have to walk around with no shoes just so that we can have some stupid 70 inch TVs. Go globalize elsewhere. Stop brainwashing the people of our country so that they'll agree with every harmful and selfish move you make! Stop spitting out ignorant individuals that suck up every little lie you feed them! No, the safety of another country is not your concern, but that does not translate into stepping on them for self gain. I don't know where you received the idea that you could do such a thing.

It's so contradictory that there's all of this BS about peace advocacy when underneath it all is someone who is trying to hide their detrimental ways. Understand that people could be so much better off. Third world countries would be a little more bearable. Open up your eyes, and take a look at the face of oppression because it's right there on your television, making a speech and telling us what to do, what's going to happen, what The Man's next move is...not directly, of course. I can't stand to see people going at it like nothing is wrong with the world, so consumed in their stupid, superficial worries of acceptance in a certain crowd. I'm so sick of blown out of proportion complaints about clothes, possessions, other useless things. Crying over a party you weren't invited to? Try watching someone cry over their dead parents. Who am I kidding, The Man has no conscience and goes all out to make people this way. Don't become one unaware of the truth, because the later you find out, the worse it's going to hit. Nowhere to go, what do you do?

By the way that picture was an anti-prejudice poster I made in the 8th grade. I replaced "prejudice" with "imperialism", but the message is still the same.

Osama...Obama?! "Os-s-sama...Obama...oh both if we could." Are you serious?! You want to kill Barack Obama?! The guy just laughs it off like it's nothing. You racist dumbass. Liz, if you haven't noticed, your joke was not funny. I repeat, not funny because if it was funny, you wouldn't have been the only person laughing in the whole room. Man, people these days.

What the hell is wrong with this lady, it doesn't matter if that candidate is someone you hate, you don't get to say that. Nobody deserves to die and death should not be something to be taken lightly or able to be joked about. If you didn't know already, "Fox News" is one of the most conservatively biased news providers we have. But I don't agree with any of these three.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://thelipsynchinggirlsays.blogspot.com/2008/05/obamaosama.html' title='Osama...Obama?! Well the answer is, little children, the white man did not spread Christianity to that part of China - the part of China in which my parents lived. Now, I'm not denouncing the ones who've asked me, I'm only answering your question. I simply did not grow up in a religious environment or know of the teachings of your religion.

But it just really makes me uncomfortable when you look at me with this bewildered expression on your face while saying "ZOMGWTFAWK!" and slurring those words together, you know what I mean? Why don't I ask you this, why do you believe in God? Our beliefs are created from a major conditioning process starting from birth. Oh cool, I just answered my own question. That is the answer to both questions actually, the one where you guys asked me why I don't believe, and the one where I asked you why you believe.

It's the conditioning, it's the environment, and it's the people we are around that molds us into who we are. Step outside for a second and realize that maybe there is the possibililty that God does not exist in someone else's eyes. It's like the shock when you realize that a certain someone doesn't fit in a norm. But screw the norm, it's just not for me. There are some things that just conflict with my personal beliefs and ideals.

Now this is for the random strangers that bash atheists and clump them all in the little "rotten eggs" section of their minds. Not for the ones that do accept others, cause those people are cool. Keep in mind I'm not bashing your religion, I'm bashing people that are closed minded about atheism. My level of morality can be higher than your uptight ass even on one of my crappy days. Don't be disgusted with my open mind and don't assume that I am such a good-for-nothing person because I don't follow some book that men wrote and interpreted as the word of God. Excuse me if I can be a good person without it. And maybe I just straight up like Nietzsche. This negative connotation that comes with "atheist" is obscene, even more obscene than my "evils".

"Showing me the right way" are ya?

*pause here for the sounds of laughter*

And now I bet you're shaking your head in disapproval. "Oh what an immature, lost little girl! I must help her, she's so poor. I must save her from the fires of hell!" And again those thoughts pop into your head after reading that.

It would be funny to see that look on people's faces when I don't care what they think of me. I just can't be serious with a group of people that aren't serious with me. I can't give them that courtesy, respect, and not judge them when they don't do the same in return for me. Understand that I am a good person, one who tries to be virtuous, and one who accepts others regardless of what they believe in, whatever their skin color, gender, etc. Shouldn't you be doing the same, according to your beliefs?

Ms. Bite-Me

My mother and I have my father’s last name, as well as many other families across America and in the world carry on this little tradition. When a woman becomes married, she automatically becomes one of the “Smiths” or “Fongs” and leaves behind her own name. What am I speaking of? Ding-Ding! It’s your friendly neighborhood Patriarchy! That right there is just one example of an element of our patriarchal society. But I’ll elaborate more on the surnames. No, there isn’t a law that says you MUST have your husband’s name, but it’s a social norm to do so. Who the hell made it that way? I don’t know, but whoever you are, may you please get your puny ass over here so I can rip those little balls off? Thanks to you, our beautiful society is a one sided, male favoring piece of SHIT. Anyways, this whole decision is one that has oppressed the female sex for so long, an example being the loss of identity, the objectification and viewing of women as property, or just the plain old “change of self for one’s man” type deal. If I see another Mrs. Henry Lafayette Dubose, I think I’m going to vomit. Doesn’t anybody see the injustice in having to go through all that and to just lose oneself in the process of this great thing known as marriage? Marriage is good. The oppression of women is bad. Simple as that. Marriage should be about the unification of two lovers, not the creation of an imbalance.

But that isn’t the only aspect of patriarchy. There’s that ridiculous idea that men must be the “man of the house” or the authoritative figure. And the one where women must be protected because they are so weak they can't fend for themselves. Of course there’s also the one where they get to be the gender that basically rules and sits their fat ass on the chair of important jobs, while being paid for their work…with the amount that women are supposed to receive when they do the same work. You know, you got your kings, presidents, and CEOs. Oh. Wait. They're actually happening.

Why do I have to live in such a place where this is a social norm? I can’t believe our society accepts such bullshit! We must see that this male dominance in so many aspects of LIFE is something that needs to be abolished. This system of patriarchy is so intricately weaved into our world. I’m so tired of it.

Maybe that hyphen in between your surname and your spouse’s surname does have some power. Break that mold and tradition of abiding to just giving up a part of yourself. It’s not perfect, but it’s a start and a perfect statement for something bigger to come. Maybe your descendants 4 generations from now will have about 5 hyphens LOL. Right now people just need to become aware of the problems that are hidden beneath the surface of the mold. Step out of that zone and realize, why have I been following this preposterous trend? Break that role as the passive female and take control of your life and family. Thousands of years of the same system isn’t going to change so simply. But we are capable of slowly breaking it down. Demand equality, and do it right!

Turn down that STEREOtype

As some of you loyal fans of Cathleen may have noticed, she doesn't post all that frequently. Much like her, I love ranting about shit and receiving commentary. So, Cathleen and I have worked out a joint blog agreement. It's more like "The Lipsynching Girl featuring the Singing in the Shower Girl". I believe she's covered some of this in her previous blog so here I go.

All you are familiar with one of the most common Asian stereotypes. Yes, I'm talking about the idea of intelligence that is immediately associated with someone of Asian descent. It's crazy because it's like before people have even heard one word come out of this person's mouth they just assume they're like Einstein to the fifth power. It's like they think we have some built in genius orb or something, like something we're guaranteed at birth. Asian is to intelligence as boy is to penis. Well guess what? Both parts of that analogy are bullshit. The latter covers a whole different topic matter which Cathleen can probably cover so I'll focus on the first one. Would you really take a look at my last name and then put me in charge of your life savings because, "Damn, she's Asian. They're math whizzes. Finally, an answer to my financial problems!" If you're the type of person who does do that, I'll be blunt about it; you're a DUMBASS! And just because I'm Asian it doesn't mean I can't be one too. I'm sure most of you have taken biology and can you tell me where in our DNA does it code for intellect and hard work? I have an A in biology (not because I'm Asian) and I don't believe that shit exists.

If some of you are wondering how "those Asians are soooooo smart", I'll tell you. While I can't speak for every Asian American, I can tell you why I'm academically successful and it has nothing to do my genes. Unlike a lot of people, I don't get shit handed to me on a silver platter. I don't even get shit handed to me on a rusty copper platter. I don't get shit handed to me. And that has affected how I choose to manage my studies. Both my parents experienced extreme examples of poverty first hand. Even though they live in the U.S. now, have a couple of cars, decent jobs, nice house, it doesn't wipe away that struggle. And for that reason, I don't have the greatest looking clothes and like 15 pairs of shoes to match a single outfit and a sidekick which I can use to text even though it's cheaper, and less time consuming just to call someone. That struggle that they have carried with them from China, I carry it too. I may have been born in the U.S., but that doesn't mean that I've escaped poverty, that that atrocity will never touch me, that having to work 3 jobs just to pay the phone bill is an impossibility. Whether you're White, Black, Mexican, Indian, whatever, these things can be a reality. So the reason I study my ass off and strive for academic excellence is not because of my bloodline, it is because I don't want that to be a reality for me; not for my children or my children's children.

So this gist of this is basically that people have reasons for why they do what they do and why they are they are the way they are. To all the dumbasses I had called out earlier, don't think for a second that an Asian does what he does because of genetics.

- Singing in the Shower Girl aka Vivian

So My Friend Vivian and I...

...are thinking of creating a joint blog. It's kinda like a new pattern. Anyway, I'm watching Desperate Housewives right now and this new commercial for the 5 dollar Quiznos subs just aired. It depicts an old Asian woman working in a laundromat stuffing a 5 dollar bill in her mouth.

Whoa. Rewind! Asian...working in a laundromat. Did anybody catch that? There goes another great stereotypical depiction of Asians in the media. Are you serious? Did you ACTUALLY just make a commercial mocking the people who took all your shit during those waves of Asian immigration? Gee thanks for ridiculing the past, the very past that you assholes forced upon them; like the way you pushed them into their own little towns or designated what types of jobs they were allowed to have, remember that? Now this "you" I'm referring to isn't exactly Quizno's, but THE MAN. Learn your history before you start enforcing this stupid image and shoving it down every mediawatcher's throats. People of color have been taking this shit for too long, and another little commercial can just push someone to the edge. That's just racist. Ugh. People need to realize that everyday, so subtly they are being humiliated. I hope that the media realizes that they're doing this and stops it. But then again, what do they care? $$$ is what they care for. More subliminal oppression. Gosh I'm on a roll today. But this can end, only if all of those systems break down. We have to do it ourselves.

Of course there are bigger issues at hand than a little commercial. I'd like to care for those more, but it's little things like this that just disappoint me. Choose your battles wisely?

Ugh, You're Such a MAN WHORE.

So Beatrice's post gave me this great idea for a blog. Sexual Equality. Has anybody noticed that there is no male equivalent for the words "bitch", "whore", or "slut"? Talk about the deeply brainwashed youth of America, everyone just throws these around like it's nothing. Keep in mind how you're being a sexist bastard/dickhead/boy who must be shot whenever you call the girl who dumped your ass a whore. Obviously they were invented by men because who in their right minds would call themselves such derogatory words? "Manwhore" or "manslut" don't convey the same message and have a lesser effect when used. In fact, it seems more of a mockery of the original words or a weak attempt to revoke thousands of years of female oppression. But of course, the latter is just a joke. I mean damn, they even have t-shirts that say "MAN WHORE" on them.

Well, will you look at that? The oppression of women, the display of the double standard, and just the freaking ridicule all rolled into one fugly ass t-shirt with a stupid little font. Yes I said it, the oppression of women...because that's where everything goes back to. It's like saying "HA HA I can wear a shirt that insults me but you can't because it would be even more degrading for you to do so." What if you saw a girl walking down the street with a shirt that catches your eye with this giant "WHORE" on the front of her shirt? What would you think? "Who is this WHORE that's taking up my breathing space with her giant knockers?" Well I won't insult you because you probably won't think that. But many would receive a crappier connotation from a girl who wore a WHORE shirt versus a guy who wore a MAN WHORE shirt. It's just how it works. Ugh. *goes on rambling about how she hates the world* Remember, whenever you call a girl a bitch or a whore, your status on my "castrate list" goes up a few spots, and not to mention the obstruction of social change. Just a little something to leave you with :).

Oh and the link to that t-shirt if you ever want to buy it and get kicked in the balls doing so is here:
http://shirtstree.com/offensive-t+shirts/man-whore-6190.html

Homophobia Part II: Hate

So I'm hoping you read part one. I'm now going to break down how people are so fearful and hateful. Gay hate violence comes from insecurity. This insecurity is from the wrongful image of gays that society has presented. That wrongful image is from THE MAN. And the little conformists that follow are just so brainwashed by the whole system. These mindless, hollow beings go on generating the hate and bouncing it back and forth in the little confined spaces like schools, the workplace, etc (kinda like the little areas between our toes; hm that made no sense).

But there was a specific incident I had in mind. This was from a long while ago, back in February, but I decided to write about this last night while brainstorming in my therapy journal. Lawrence King was a 15 year old student who had asked a fellow student to be his valentine. In return, he was murdered by Brandon McInerney for doing so. The story can be found here:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/23/us/23oxnard.html

I really didn't know how to react when I first heard of this. But it's just so SAD how something so little could trigger a murder. Something I've noticed is that some men react to homosexuality more aggressively than women do. This goes back to something I said about the double standard of gay male porn versus lesbian porn in my "Shake that Ass" blog post. So on top of our male supremacist society, there is the need to preserve masculinity...at all costs. There is such a heightened level of hostility towards gay males from heterosexual males than lesbians from heterosexual women in the case of unwanted flirting from one party. Anyway, hypothetically you're a man (and if you are a man reading this, then you don't need to imagine), and a woman had hit on you...you wouldn't KILL HER, punch her, or injure her in any way, would you? Why isn't this the same with homosexuals and heterosexuals? Brandon, what the FUCK have your parents and adult figures been teaching you? This is not fair, the way people are being oppressed. Really, just get over your damn insecurities and masculinity. Get over your "Gay is not the way" crap. Get over your HATE.

Homophobia Part I: How to Spot a Homophobe

In school, in life, or even in our world, self-expression is encouraged, correct? Everyone wants us to be ourselves; maybe show it through art, music, writing, etc or just socially. And it's also needed to deal with certain pressures in differing situations. Those corny ass brochures tell us to "Be Yourself!" (I bet you're thinking "What kind of weird ass brochures is this girl reading?)

Then, hm, why is it so frowned upon when someone complies to doing this and in the process, reveals that they are gay? Homophobia. Everyone knows this word, but in case you're socially awkward, ignorant or some shit: Homo = Same, Phobia = Fear of. "OMG! The gays are coming!" I don't see what's to fear about people that choose to put their dick in a different hole or love to scissor. Gosh, it's not like they're doing it to you; IMO they wouldn't do it to such a douche like you. It just gets me, how homophobia is released in little, subtle ways. It's even worse to see someone who just won't admit that they're homophobic.

But anyway, I thought I'd write a few things that closeted homophobes do that piss me off (how to spot a homophobe) (homophobe-dar):

The amount of fuss generated when a homosexual couple engages in PDA versus a heterosexual couple who do the same exact thing is significantly larger. That's something you should watch out for in a 'phobe.

The shock and hesitant acceptance of a close friend who turned out to be gay. It's stupid when people think that their close friend is going to hit on them. I mean if he or she was your friend for that long, they'll stay in the friend zone, yeah? That idealism you're sporting is really ugly, especially if that friend needs support and you blatantly just reject them.

The "ew", extra discomfort, or violence expressed when someone of the same sex hits on them. You wouldn't react this way if someone in which you had no feelings for had hit on you.

Gay jokes.

There goes part one of my little anti-homophobia posts. Here is Part 2:
http://cathleeeeenthegreat.blogspot.com/2008/05/homophobia-part-ii-hate.html

Eat my Shorts!

So I've noticed people judge others upon what they wear or own. Yes, because the shirt I'm wearing truely defines me and strips me of my exterior to show the person I really am on the inside. The world doesn't exactly need your criticism towards something so useless as this. Why don't you focus on promoting a better cause, instead of directing your energy onto feeding the giant machine of consumerist culture? Don't people realize that they're just being controlled by the institutions and their glorification of materialism? The admiration of others and the disgust expressed when one doesn't please their eye or satisfy the "standard" placed upon everyone could be turned into something productive if people would just ignore this impotence. By productiveness, I mean bettering your OWN life instead or a cause instead of stepping on others. This is America, the land of the free...and the land of consumer capitalism. I think it's gotten to the point where it's just sad now. The media and it's manipulation of the masses needs to chill out a bit. Everyone has had enough of this crap. People are ridiculous to make others feel horrible and ashamed because of something with such little importance as clothing. Allow people to wear what they feel looks good on them. Why must there be labels and stereotypes attached to certain shirts or brands? Have you ever wondered...(omg! the shock) maybe they just like it because it looks nice? Simple as that.

But there's also this. There are people that buy things, feeling that it's going to enhance their life and their image and destroy their insecurities. *sigh* Lost child, your Hollister shirt has no such power. Only you do. But oh well, I guess that's the lifestyle of a lot of people. If I can evolve, your ass can probably do the same. And now for your little motivational bit: Just be yourself. You don't need anything to feel worthy.

My Token Gay Best Friend

I absolutely hate it when people have a friend who is a part of a certain ethnic group, religious affilliation, or has a certain sexual preference, etc and feel that they can speak for the rest of that community because they know ONE person who's associated with it. Listen, people, you do not get to generalize about 289347293874 people just because you have an Asian friend, or a gay friend, or an Atheist friend. You can't even do it even if you're apart of that group as well. Why don't you just look past the skin color or the sexual orientation and see others as individuals instead? You can't say, "Oh my gay best friend is never offended when I call him a fag, so nobody else who is gay should be either" because it makes you look like an ignorant, moronic ASSHOLE. No, wait, you ARE an ignorant, moronic ASSHOLE because you can't use that little thing you call a brain of yours to filter out what's right and wrong. And you're just too damn stupid to realize how conditioned you've been by the evils of society. Snap out of it!

It also bugs me how the media has the image of homosexual men as these feminine, bestfriends of women, and bitchy people. And in turn, people WANT this gay man stereotype in their life because it's been so glorified. You know what, this shit doesn't exist, you don't want the guy as your friend because he's a good person; you want him because he's gay and he may have a chance of being that stereotype and amuse you with his gay lisp. You want the stereotype. It goes the same for "I want an Asian/White/Black/Latino friend because they're ____." The American media needs to fuck off and stop with these inaccurate portrayals with exaggerated stereotypes of people. And I'm not just talking about movies, there are tons of other forms of media with this crap. They just have to twist it a little to have it to their liking and appeal to their predominately ignorant audience and in turn they don't realize how fucked up they are in doing so.

Shake that Ass

A heterosexual man will not be criticized for being slutty if he wears somewhat revealing clothes, do sexual gestures, shake his ass. In fact, he'll only be laughed at for doing such a thing. In our happy little world of today, while women will only be viewed as sex objects and are criticized for doing tiny little things in a sexual manner, men will always just be laughed at if they do such things. Like Chris Crocker once said, "My dick doesn't define me." Well you know what, my vagina doesn't define me either. It doesn't give anyone reason to call me a slut if I shake my ass or wear revealing clothes. That may not apply to me at this very moment, but it does for a lot of other people. People often mistaken sexual confidence as skankiness and automatically assume that these people who are dressing or acting a certain way are just the scum of the earth. You know what, you are too for being so judgmental and possessing a mindset full of double standards. Humor is tied with a man exposing his body, while disgust, ejaculation, or even pity is expressed when a woman does that. A girl just can't win, she's either a slut, a sex object, or a poor misguided female...but never sexually liberated.

I also hate the fact that guys are so disgusted by homosexual male porn; but when it comes to lesbian porn, they're ever so for it. I mean how hypocritical is THAT? That's our great society, teaching young minds that it's okay to accept lesbian porn because women are just merely for the purpose of being a masturbation tool, while it's just dreadful to witness the act of male on male fucking because it threatens their masculinity. Guys are so much more sensitive when it comes to that. It's also just really homophobic. Please boys, shove that crap back up your ass. Our society doesn't need any more of this bullshit.

The Power of Powder Puff

So today was the Powder Puff football game at our school. I'm not going to hesitate to say this, but wow, this whole thing is just a giant mockery of women in sports. Because, oh yes, it's just so OUT THERE that women would play football, so we're going to dedicate a day for them to do this unspeakable thing, and reverse gender roles in the process in order to LAUGH AT THEM. I mean damn they're just mocking women in every possible way. Yes, that's what we do, we shake our asses and spank each other. There goes cheerleading for you. And it also gets to me how it's so hilarious when a man shakes his ass, but it's slutty when a woman does the exact same thing. But I'll cover this in a different entry. Honestly, they're just putting this little game on display so we may ridicule the people involved and experience whatever little amusement we are able to conceive from such an astounding sight. Many would say that this was held all in good fun. But listen to this, behind every little act pulled "in good fun", is a hidden deep, cold, and truthful message. So our little Powderpuff game that's being taken so lightly actually shields the oppression of women in more ways than one.

Geeze, lady.

So a few days ago I was watching Ellen and I saw talking about this Oklahoma state legislator, Sally Kern, regarding a bunch of anti-gay comments she made. Here's her little speech:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFxk7glmMbo

I really don't know what to say except that she's like the poster child for the crazy over-the-top Christian, Republican, must-spread-my-faith, Anti-Gay, I-only-fuck-in-the-missionary-position, I-must-belittle-myself-for-my-man, ignorant, redneck stereotype. Since when is homosexuality "the biggest threat our nation has"? And oh my gosh, "even more so than terrorism or Islam." Because Islam is just such a horrible threat, even more so than closed-minded, judgmental folks like yourself. That statement is just blatantly offensive to Muslims. She's speaking of homosexuality like it's some kind of disease. And the whole issue with gay marriage, do they think that once they legalize it that everyone's going to "turn" gay? That whole analogy with the cancer and the toe, what the hell was that? It's NOT a disease, get it over your heads already. You can't exactly spread it like the herpes in your pants. Damn lady, chill out, it's fucking 2008 not 1920. Come on! Evolve already, man you're slow. "According to God's word..." Bitch, please. You don't know SHIT about what God says, you just interpreted it in your own little sick way. I feel sorry for those kids she taught for those 20 years. And the way she keeps referring to people as "gays". "Controlled by gays", "Infiltrated by gays". Yeah I'm going to start calling people "straights" or "heteros". What are those societies that she's talking about? The ones who have been destroyed because of their acceptance of homosexuality. Because I'd like to know.

Virginity and Double Standards

This is something I've had for a while, I think I'll add more to it later.
Why are women viewed as “easy” when they’re sexually liberated? This double standard is really pissing me off.

Virginity is such a big issue as well. The whole “oh my god my man won’t have me because I’m not a virgin”. Gasp. Ok that is quite last century right there, but you know what, it’s the mentality of a bunch of stupid ass people in America. All this anti-pornography and sex-negative feminism is basically just holding us back. I don’t see how it can help us at all. They’re referring back to the shit men produced, all those gender roles in society. Like how women are supposed to be pure and chaste and virginal. Well you know what, that bullshit is old as hell and it needs to go. How can you be advocating such a problem and such OLD teachings? It’s not progressive and we’re not advancing in any way. Why not give us sexual freedom? Men do whatever the hell they want, why are you allowing them to oppress us by being against our sexual liberation?

F@#* this $@!^

So some boy says that “I find it hilarious when people resort to cussing because they can’t articulate their feelings in a more professional manner.” Step off your high horse you little twit. Now I’m going to write an entry in a full cuss-free, “professional” manner. Boy, I should rip your balls out and along with that, your annoying little arrogance, whatever “professionalism” you have, and your regurgitative elitism. I’m ever so sorry my use of expletives is so damaging to the world. I’m so sorry a child soldier is forced into battle every time I say “kiss my ass”. Man I am just the devil aren’t I! As if George Bush’s “professional” manner is any less toxic to our world than my little utterance of the word “fuck” can ever be. Let’s forget about the millions of children starving in third world countries, or hell, even the whales being killed and pick on my speech because you have nothing better to say about my opinions, or my insults for that matter. Please, if I wanted to insult you without cussing, I could. But in reality, I just don’t respect you, so why should I put myself through the trouble? Yes, because the “professional” manner is the way to go! Let’s cater to white America and censor the world! Oh hey, why stop there? Let’s feed the machine of political correctness and boring white high class society, which we’ll probably never be a part of, but hey that’s the cool thing to do right? No that’s what EVERYONE does. You’re such a freaking conformist. I hadn’t known much about it before and the purposes of it, but now, after reading a page in my biology packet, I understand a lot more. In life, you MUST risk certain things to get a bigger payoff. The same applies with scientific discoveries, or just plain old discoveries in general. For the ones who say that a zygote is a living child, it’s not. A zygote has the potential to be a living child, but it’s not an actual child. There is no moral code that’s being broken here. We’re trying to help humankind and do something for the greater good. And in order to do that, usually we must make some sort of sacrifice. Plus, these people willingly donated their eggs and sperm to science, knowing what could or could not happen with it. Other people should not be able to control what people do with somebody’s donated bodily fluids for the purpose of making a scientific discovery. These fluids aren’t for creating children, people seem to forget that. Nobody freaks out when people donate other things, just because those things don’t really have the potential to become living humans. But that’s the key word, potential. You know, I had the potential to be in band, but it just didn’t happen. Instead, I’m doing something else and it’s I’m a lot happier because of it. You can look at that as the “greater good” in this crappy analogy I just made up. Everybody and everything has the potential to become something else, but a lot of it doesn’t happen, right?

Religion is Not Morality

So I was reading about the political positions of John McCain a few minutes ago. And MAN this guy is pissing me off. this guy is against Roe v. Wade, the decision made in 1973 repealing the laws restricting abortion. Ok what the fuck. Just because you believe that abortion is "immoral", it doesn't mean the rest of us do. This totally proves some point I've made before talking to someone about how religion is mixed into our politics too often. Religion is not morality. People confuse that a lot as well. So because I don't follow some book written by a bunch of MEN in old ass robes, I'm in any way immoral? But back to the abortion thing. It's not like you're the one getting raped and abused and forced to have a child because abortion is illegal in the country you live in, now is it? Who the fuck are you to tell me what I can or cannot operate upon my body? It's simply not going to work if you restrict someone of this right over the control of what they do with their bodies. They're still going to find some way of getting an abortion even if it's unsafe, because that's the way things are. It's like a mother keeping the cookie jar on top of the refridgerator to stop her child from getting any cookies. Well you know what, that kid is going to find some way of getting those cookies, even if it takes some unsafe climbling onto the kitchen counter to do so. And it's going to hit you hard when you find your kid bleeding on the floor because he or she fell trying to get down from there, just like the president's going to be fucked when he hears that a shitload of girls are dying from unsafe abortions. It's inevitable that people are going to have sex or some unfortunate girl is going to get raped and abused, so why endanger their lives even more by taking away that one little thing that could make their lives a little more bearable. Looks like McCain is against government funding of birth control and sex education. He voted no on 100 million dollars to reduce teen pregnancy by education and contraceptives. Ok abstinence only education wouldn't work. Again, it's inevitable that people are going to have sex. Not every fucking person in the whole damn country believes the same thing as you do about premarital sex and all that. Not everyone believes that sex is only for the purpose of copulation either. So don't be pulling those funds out of contraceptives. Since everybody's going to have sex, why not warn them about the shit that could happen. Why are you trying to move us backwards? He's basically going to operate upon fear. Since when the fuck is education a BAD thing? That abstinence only bullshit isn't working in Africa, what makes you think it's going to work here? You and your fucking idealism can go fuck up another country; leave it out of ours.

Frankenstein and the Norms of Society

I guess I'm going to put on here a few Xanga entries that I wrote and really like. Uh here's one:

I'm reading Frankenstein right now and doing homework, and I just got inspired when they started asking questions on the study guide about being "naturally good and turning evil because of society". I went on a rant on my study guide about this topic. I agree with that saying, that people are naturally good. It occurred to me that society is so easily controlled by the government and their propaganda. They are able to create the norm of their liking - whether it be religiously influenced or not. Religion is such a tool anyway, so is the media and whatnot. I really do believe that if someone doesn't fit into the "norm", they are bashed by the ones who have been brainwashed by society. That is exactly why I have all this "sex stuff". My "rebellion". *gag* I don't believe in the norm. The only reason why people are grossed out by things like 2 girls 1 cup is because it depicts something out of the sexual norm. Ugh. Everyone is such a conformist. Oh yes, I'm so "weird" because I'm smart enough to look past the guidelines we must fit to be "accepted" and fight against that. Please, shut the fuck up, you narrow minded assholes. People are bashed too often for being open minded, tolerant, or smart enough to rise above and realize all the flaws of society. I take back the "tolerant" part. Why do we have to "tolerate" something different, like homosexuality for instance? It's not a bad thing at all. There's too much ignorance and stupidity in our world. People need to look past society's standards of LIFE. All this taboo needs to be discussed. The only way this can be changed is if people start realizing these things. Get over yourselves, your pride, and your embarrassment. Start giving a shit.

A New Beginning

Hm, with the push from Sarah, I've decided to create an actual blog.
